Chapter 10
Ryan
“You’ve never bottomed?” The words popped out before I realized there had to be a better way to bring it up.
Scott cocked his head. “I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to. You had the same look on your face when I asked you about sushi the first time.” He’d been the kid who’d never eaten anything weird growing up, so I’d made it my mission in college to broaden his horizons.
Dare was watching with a curious expression on his face, but he didn’t step in so I kept going. “If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine.”
We’d made enough progress that if he was ready to focus on something easier or just more like a traditional date, that was fine with me. Scott kind of shrugged, though, so I wasn’t sure if that was a request for an out or that he wasn’t sure what he should say.
“It never came up.”
I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be a dirty joke or not, but Dare snickered. Scott blinked quietly a few times. “Oh. That wasn’t what I meant.”
Trying not to smile and failing miserably, I nodded. “For a minute, I thought your sense of humor had taken a dirty turn.”
Scott smiled and shook his head. “No. And no. It…um…no one ever asked.”
I felt Dare’s hand tighten on ours and he leaned in to give Scott a tender peck on the lips. “And bringing it up felt overwhelming and very personal, I bet.”
“Yes.” Scott kept it simple, but there was a lot of emotion in that one word.
Looking at him, I wasn’t sure how I’d missed it before. Dare said it was obvious and it probably was. I’d just never really looked. Maybe I hadn’t wanted to see, or maybe I’d just refused to. It wouldn’t have made things easier even if I’d seen it, though. Neither of us had been ready before Dare and without him we were still two…submissives without a Dominant.
Submissive.
There was nothing wrong with the word, but everything I could picture when I heard it didn’t feel like it related to me. I’d seen some bigger guys online who’d submitted to a partner, but that was porn. In real life, I’d never seen anyone like Scott and me.
And every sub in porn and in the clubs bottomed…loudly and enthusiastically.
I’d done it with Ian because I’d been curious, but it’d never felt right. He’d loved it when I got his prostate just right and the feel of my cock sliding deep inside him had lit him up. I’d never felt the same way, though. Ian had said that was fine, that not everyone liked bottoming, but over time I hadn’t seen any subs who didn’t like it. It’d just made me feel more…lost.
“Is it something you want to try?” I wasn’t sure if I should let Scott escape the conversation or not, but until Dare put a halt to it or Scott actually said he was uncomfortable, I was going to keep asking questions.
He
